De'Valos Protection Rings
From AOWiki
The environments of Penumbra and Inferno are noticably hostile to all living things, so protection is needed to traverse the environments. Most travelers will note though, that this protection gets in the way of using normal and effective armors in those areas. Luckily, with the coming of The Alien Playfields, De'Valos has provided us with some ways to change what slot we put our environment protective items in: by making them into rings. This process requires that you have access to the APF though and the items such as the pen glasses and inferno boots to convert into the new rings, making them NODROP.

[edit] Tradeskill Process
The combination of items in Anarchy Online works as follows:
Open the tradeskill window (Ctrl-t). Here you can place the two items you want to combine in the left and middle boxs. The resulting Item will be shown in the right box. Missing skills, or non possible combinations will be shown below. A detailed look on the resulting item is possible with a simple shift-left-click on it. It is recommended to have free inventory space before combining items, else the item will end in the overflow window.
The first Process makes a ring needed to protect you from the environment of Penumbra.
